Description

Position Purpose:

At Saint Mary's Hospital, the IV Therapy Registered Nurse RN provides patient care by specializing in administering intravenous medicine, vitamins, or fluids.

What You Will Do

  • You will insert and maintain peripheral IVs, midline catheters, and other types of lines.
  • Administration and monitoring of medications, blood products, and fluids while calculating and documenting dosages, adjustments, protocols, and patients’ vitals during treatments.
  • Collaborates with colleagues, physicians, healthcare team members, and the patient and family to ensure safe, effective, and efficient care delivery

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred.
  • Registered Nurse RN Licensure: Valid and current Connecticut registered nurse licensure is required.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience with PICC lines placement/access/de-access, Midlines, Port access/de-access, and placement of Peripheral sites is required.
  • BLS or CPR certification: Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross will be accepted.
